However, her family is somewhat dysfunctional, with her parents shown fighting all the time. She looks out for her younger brother, and often takes care of him. When she asks her mother for permission to go to the school one day, her mother immediately refuses, showing her bills, and shouting at her.

The girl thinks about all the things in her life that make her happy, and decides to run away to attend the school.   1. First of all, this CD is a perfectly good three star effort from Showoff. I can't say that it is a great CD, but I didn't get sick of it within a week like some others. However, my main problem with this CD is that I was completely spoiled by Showoff's demo tape before they signed to Madonna's label/5(30).

  4. Showoff's pop punk debut is irresistible -- to a point. The young Chicago band has the strident vocals, the martial beats accelerating into warp-speed, the pink hair-it's punk-by-numbers. Nonetheless, "Second Chance" is a great piece of new wave/old school songwriting as is the melodic "Someone" which rests firmly in power pop/jangle territory 5/
